fair enough , but why wasnt bentham dropped after is pathetic display in huddersfield , wasnt we only given 5 tackles on 2 occasions

It's obviously only serious if it results in a try where as only giving 5 tackles helps deny a try (maybe)

Was watching Alibert at the weekend and noticed he very rarely looks across the line for offsides. In fairness he was the same for both sides but it seemed both teams were only back 8 on average.

If that's the benchmark Silverpud should never referee again

It did lead to a try as Huddersfield scored from the handover possession which was given on the halfway line against an un-set defence expecting another tackle and a kick and chase which would have put Huddersfield a futher 40m into their own half.

The only affect that Alibert's mis-count had was that we scored a tackle later than we would have done otherwise.

the standard of reffing is atrocious.if we were to concede a try on the 7th tackle at wigan on friday this board would be on meltdown..all this it evens out over a season is not totally true...i do realise mistakes are made but an error like that has cost wakey the game,just hope we are not on the recieving end on friday or a reffing clanger decides the game..and just hearing its silverdud at our game then owt can happen

Maybe if these touch judges were given a more hands on role in matches it would stop a lot of what spectators see as poor reffing decisions. After all the ref can only see what is in his line of vision & happening once in real time.

he has probably been dropped for all the other god awful decisions he made in that game.

This is very true, also for the point made above RE: offside. Our game is become, faster, more explosive and more exciting which is only a good thing for the fans.

I think the Linesmen need to step up a bit and help the guy out in the middle who has to look for playing around in the ruck and offside at the same time. Can't remember last time linesmen put their flag up for offside (unless its all done by the mics? but if that's the case, whats the point in the flags)


Still no defense for not counting to 6 by the ref though!

Maybe Stuart Cummings is finally growing a set of gonads now and is willing to drop referees based on performance instead of standing by them all the time.

Will be very interesting to see if he ever does it to the likes of Steve Ganson though.
