While watching the FC game stewards were stopping people taking pictures, even of their own child !
Anyone know about this and when did it come into effect ?

were the kids on the pitch? i'm asuming so,not sure how they can stop it from the crowd with cameras on phones etc.

If you mean during the kids game? Yeah, people usually don't like strangers taking photos of their kids. Best to be on the side of caution.

i believe that's been the case for a few years now since there was an incident of someone taking indecent photos or something a few years ago.

About 15 years a go, it's standard throughout sport, you have to have permission of the club to take photographs/video in a stadium.

Same as in amateur junior games, you have to get permission from all parents present.

Yeah, my mate was stopped from taking a photo of her own son with wolfie last week. Saw some people being stopped from taking pics of the St Oswalds kids at half time when they did lap of honour

Its the same in most walks of life unfortunately a few idiots have led to a state where a lot of parents get suspicious of anyone they don't know/trust taking pictures of their children therefore unless you have prior permission to do so then its not really an option.
