Sky Sports reveal that the Easter Weekend double-header will NOT take place in 2023

Difficult to argue about player welfare. Higher intensity game these days. But I'd agree that the loss of tradition is upsetting, and Sky have no interest in that at all.

Not too concerned, myself.

I debated whether to bother with the Wakefield match on Monday, as I had other things to do and I'd already had my rugby fix for the weekend at Saints.

The game won out in the end, and I'm glad I went, but for a combination of both "Fan fatigue" and player welfare (see the Saints team last night) - I think the game is better off by dropping the extra match.

Good - epsecially if they can make the missing game at the Magic Weekend - that way prevent teams playing each other ridiculous times in a season and some teams having to double up on harder games than others at Magic.

Pleased to see the back of it. Not bothered about Sky's motives; they are don't care about rugby league it's clear. But three games in a week doesn't result in high quality sport.

we used to have it aswell at the xmas double header,,,,,plus 40 odd game seasons, with 4 cup comps

I’m up for scraping it just so I don’t have to listen to players moaning about it every single year

Whilst some worked a proper job as well

I'd rather scrap magic weekend tbh.
