| Very interesting game, they have to big favorites, but think we have a chance, them losing last week could go either way, slight loss of confidence or a big performance on the rebound.
I actually think Lewis going off worked against us last time, a lot of our plans would have been to stop him.
Balmforth is fit has to come in for Moy, Rapana although has errors has a a lot of plus points, he make yards, tackles well and has an assist in him, he needs to cut out those errors, same for Ashworth, whose poor discipline could have cost us the game, we can't afford that against Rovers.
Think we have to split up Knight and Ese Ese, always have one of them on, with a couple of 10 minutes spells with them both on.
Eseh is strange one, Cartwright obviously doesn't fully trust him, giving him the last 5 mins, when the game was gone, be nice to have Fash or Watts back. Think the same applies to Salabio, both are raw with potential, but not quite ready.
No Mccllorum means maybe 80 minutes for Litten, which reduces his impact, we have to get at him with the forwards and tire him out.
Seen a lot of slander towards JWH, who has been solid at best and his stats back that up, but do reckon he is a good signing, probably an impact like Pritchard was for us in 2016.
Lastly, was wrong about Pryce and Cust last week, for now they have to be 1 and 6, gives us threat and balance.
Whatever happens, to think we could be top this week if we win, is bonkers, not had an easy run in either with 5 away games and 2 at home, could easily be joint top if that Briscoe call had gone our way against Leigh, what amazing job Thirkill, Myler and coaching staff have done.

Every time someone tackles the little sh17, his arms are always waffling around looking for the penalty.
I hope he does bugger off the the NRL and does that?.someone will soon tw@ the little turd.he should turn to acting the way he went down when Asiata caught him then he ran past him laughing..cheating little I repeat what I said earlier this afternoon (post above somewhere). Never mind his antics on the pitch, if he continues to goad the South and East stands the way he was doing this afternoon, it won't be long before someone vaults onto the pitch to confront him (which will spell trouble for all). I get that he takes a certain amount of stick (he's a rovers player playing in a derby for heaven's sake!) but as a high profile player he needs to show a bit more class than he did throughout this afternoon. Think his coach needs to have a quiet word in his ear and tell him to concentrate on playing his game, not to see if he can get a rise out of opposition supporters. Thought it was a bit classless from him today. as classless as two fingering the rovers crowd think hos needs a word with one of your players I think if he were not a Rovers player you would probably find Lewis?s antics unpleasant. He?s a good player - no need to be so confrontational with an away crowd. The game does need characters but good ones!

Disappointed as always to lose, personally this one stung a bit more than the cup defeat.
Can't fault this groups effort though. We had every right to give up bit we kept swinging. We're a few months into a club wide rebuild, but it feels much further on already.
On a side note the more I see of him, the more I'm convinced Myler has found a little gem in Amir Borouh.
Agree with all.I think Bourouh has gone under the radar. Thankfully Balmforth is back to give a desperately needed and well earned rest. We have a 9 day turnaround too which may revitalise. Tough ask next game but it will be another good barometer of progress

Hull were valiant in defeat and progressing well, a better bench and I think Hull could have snatched the game, Rovers losing Davies and Burgess didn't help us and you capitalised on the edge.
The next few years are going to be interesting, Hull will keep improving and with the investments Rovers are doing we aren't going away either.
As for Lewis I'm confused by many comments about him, so Hull fans can chant about him been a sex offender which I have no issue with, they then chant about the paternity of his child again I don't have an issue as its banter, but then you take an issue with Lewis giving a little bit back to you?
Am I missing something or does he not have a right to give a little back?
Hull players where sticking two fingers up to Rovers fans, I don't remember Lewis offering out expletives to your fans?
Don?t think any of that is banter from either side. It?s just offensive. You set your own standards - if Lewis or any player did not respond the ?banter?, a euphemism for vitriol at times, would dilute. Hes good player if dishonest (penalty off Asiata and then the goading smile)that?s how he could answer.

| I agree, but if Hull are good at one thing they love to go over the top at saying how good a player is or how poor they are after a few game, think this is what has happened with both Rapana and Knight.
I'd keep both Rapana and Cartwright over Knight, I know Jed has had his injuries but think both have a bigger impact for team than Knight.
Think we need another prop, but think there's more chance of getting a good domestic prop than a back or backrower.

Once the usual heartbreak has melted away a bit I have to say that performance wasn't that bad at all !!! I see we have the usual grumblers on here again but quite frankly I can't quite see how anyone can have anything but admiration for our efforts this afternoon. Here we are playing the best team in the comp and down to 12 men early on, (which in the modern game spells disaster for even the best) and yet we have the opposition coach coming to the touchline to rally his troops when in the middle of the second half they are in danger of being bettered by a 12 man opposition out on their feet. For me the progress we have made since last year is phenomenal and most fans appreciate that; you only have to see how many stayed when it was a lost cause. We have to celebrate the spirit, wanting and desire in this squad we have.
We made errors and fluffed our lines at times. But how potent are we these days with the ball in the opposition 20??? There were some massive efforts out there with players running for the shirt and the fans when most would have expected them to have expired much earlier. I was proud of the lads today and when we have had as long as the dobbins to build a team we are going to be some force in the game and the City of Hull could well again become the capital of rugby league. We are going to lose some this year, of course we are, but what a coach we have, watching it back he is just as enthusiastic as we all are when we score and its easy to see how the whole club is all together in it for us lot out there in the stands. I refuse to criticise anyone as is the case with Cust who perhaps could have done something, but the rules are the rules, however if I was running that fast I doubt I could have changed much!!! (me running not going to happen though so can't prove it!!!!) We Might have won that one on a level playing field, but when the best team in the leagues supporters cheer a sending off as much as they would winning a trophy it says a lot for how far we have come!!! On we go, but isn't it great to watch this team of ours this season. I'm loving it!!!
Sorry Wilf but if you can?t criticise Cust then you need to go to specsavers Cust?s stupidity stopped us from having a great chance to win the match His tackle using the point of the shoulder was deliberate, and be because he made no attempt to tackle with his arms he had no defence The replay shows how he turned his shoulder into Morgue. He may not have meant to hit Morgue in the head but it was straight Red card when he did. No he didn?t?.ok it?s reckless at most but not deliberate at all?he is coming in at speed and can?t adjust?Richard Whiting said the same and il take his word over yours Please, just go and watch the highlights of today on YouTube, they replay the Cust incident about 5 times. Yes, he was coming at speed, but you can see him deliberately turn his shoulder to its points before hitting Mourgue. He may not have wanted to hit Morgue in the head but he knew what he was doing in his actions. He made no attempt to use his arms to tackle And as soon as he made contact with Morgue?s head it was a straight red with no mitigation I?ve also disagreed with Rich Whiting on X over it. I rewatched the incident and have to say I still think red was harsh and I feel yellow was more appropriate. In watching its clear to me that in the split second Cust gets caught is two minds as to avoid the collision which was unavoidable. I?d also listen to a seasoned pro like Whiting as he is RL through and through and knows the game. Then less than 2 hours later Mbye puts a clear shot with his shoulder to the head but is deemed a yellow due to mitigation of the Wigan player dropping. For me that seemed a more intentional hit than the collision between Cust & Morgue. To add insult to the situation Hargreaves?s in full view of the supposed assistant ref throws a deliberate punch at Asiata which makes direct contact with the head. Yet there is nothing done or reviewed about that and by letter of the law striking is a red card, so why nothing?
