TrinTrin:
Seems on looking at the situation we have a position problem, two centres & one wing problem, original centre choices were
Corey & Cam, then walmsley, Pratt pushed himself into first choice helped by injury to Cam.
Walmsley told there is more to a winger being fast but return of kicks & being forcefully is a big part of a wingers game.
Hence Russell chosen over walmsley. Then Russells gets injured, so Pratt chosen on the wing, then it's obvious he is a centre.
Cam returns & goes on the wing, Pratt & Corey main first choice,
Question, all three are out & out centres, not fast but forcefull ?
So, our centres are not fast & not deadly at being creative putting wingers away ?
We have a problem, this being selection on our full three quarter line ?
Not sure about all of that but we don?t have a problem with both centres and wing imo.
Pratt has secured a centre spot and it is richly deserved. No issue there. In fact the left with Pratt and TJ looks strong.
The right side both Scott and Hall appear to be solid options at centre. I?d say both are young and are SL standard. I do not think the swapping and changing on the right has done that side any favours at all and last week having Scott on the wing was rather strange.
It?s not an issue really, I believe it?s just playing one of Scott or Hall. I?m presently both look solid without breaking pots. There will be more to come from both.
The wing spot, Walmsley when playing has been up top end of metres makers and is generally solid though I can?t see why he?s not getting regular game time. I?m fine with Russell or Walmsley playing though.
It?s not really an issue but I feel we just need something settled on that right edge that?s all.
Next week just choose between Scott/Hall and stick Walmsley on the wing or Russell if fit. Nothing wrong with that but stick to it for a few weeks.
I think Myers, Tchamambe will likely be staking a claim next season too as they?re clearly getting game time in the championship to step up in 2026. So it?s not as if we don?t have a plan.
If we are to bring in a winger though there?s a couple of decent right wings available for next year and beyond like Bennison.
Guess it depends where Mills and Powell want to strengthen.
I?m reasonably happy though and it?s just the chopping and changing forces and otherwise I think that?s not helping.
