| It is a shame that the Times thinks so little of RL. On no other subject would the paper employ such a third rate journalist.
I have never read an article by this guy that has offered any genuine insight into TGG. Not a single phrase that sticks in the mind because of its eloquence or wit.
Instead we have banal "6th form" attempts at being controversial and this toe curling need to post links on this forum.  |

Ive never stood up for a journo before, but far from a third rater, Christopher Irvine is a first class operator. His blog I admit can be a bit over the top at times but that's what a blog is meant to be. It's witty, controversial, informative and ocasionally outrageous.
His stuff in the paper is top notch. I see a lot of the papers and believe me he gets more in the paper than anyone. The only toe curling here applies to the views of Marsden giant. |

I agree entirely, his witterings this year have been pathetic.
Nobody talking about the game? It was worthy of a page feature in a 300,000 circulation sports paper in London today, reaching commuters across the capital. I guess that's more coverage than Chris could generate, even if he had something positive and/or insightful to write on the sport. |

I profess no journalistic knowledge. I'm an accountant! But I do
acknowledge that The Times and their correspondent cover rugby league best of the quality papers. I'm not sure you'd read a quality paper anyway. |
