Let me preface this by assuring everyone that I've been a life long St Helens hater. Right from the days of Les Jones, Roy Matthias and Kel Coslett leading St Helens to huge wins over Northern, I've hated them with a passion. I've always seen them as the cocky upstart small town team, with arrogant players and fickle supporters who only create a good atmosphere when the team are 15-20 points up.
And don't even get me started on the whole Millward / Long era....
But, somehow, I find myself becoming a temporary St Helens 'supporter'. Why? Because I quite fancy the idea of the Grand Final Winning coach sitting behind the desk at Odsal. Since I have no love for Leeds, Huddersfield or Wigan, it seems quite reasonable to be backing Saints for glory
Am I alone in quite liking the idea of Mick Potter holding up the Superleague trophy on Oct 3rd, going into Knowsley Road the next day to clear his desk, and then walking into Odsal on the Monday to start pre-season
Is this reasonable, or do I need help
