You couldn't have had a much more glamorous club than Salford at the time Keith Fielding played for them.

Maybe glamorous was the wrong word. In terms of big names they certainly had plenty (David Watkins and Mike Coulson come to mind) but apart from a Challenge Cup Final in 1969 (against Castleford. I lived near Pontefract at the time. The town was divided with the Featherstone half wanting Salford to win) they were more style than substance and never quite reached the heights. A case of the whole being less than the sum of the parts.
