Went to there new place called Bengal Lounge down princes ave, Both are good and would say slightly better than Raj. If you go to chants ask for a Tinderloo, its not on the menu but they mix a Vinderloo with a Phal, you scrape it off your fork with your Teeth its that hot!

I like both Raj and Bengal Pride, but would probably opt for Raj. Went to the Bengal lounge on princes and it took an hour for our food to come; but it was good.
However all curry houses have been spoiled for me since I went to Mumtaz in Bradford. get yourself there or to the one next to Royal Armouries in Leeds. Different class!

Only been to Raj once.
Maybe it was an "off" night for them but I really didn't rate it - indifferent service, garlic naan that was soggy and awful and all served on stone cold plates. As I say, maybe just one bad night.

Went to Curry on Witham on friday it wasn't amazing the first I went but it was shocking this time.I suppose that's what you get with the all you can eat style places

Bengal Pride is the best curry house in Hull. It's sister-place Bengal Lounge is also excellent. The food in each is on a par - delicious. Contrary to other reports we didn't have to wait for our grub in Bengal Lounge, the waiter service was spot-on - they timed the delivery of the courses to perfection.
My only grouch with Bendal Lounge is the ghastly modern decor - although I appreciate I am in the minority here and most others appreciate it. Bengal Pride is a "traditionally decorated" curry house. Splendidly intimate, in my opinion. |
