My view is very similar - a 2 Division Super League BUT start season with East League and West League. Each team plays the others once only - lots of local Derbies eg Leeds v Halifax, Leigh v Wigan etc. After these matches split into Div 1 and Div 2. (I bet the present Fev team would get into Div 1).
Possible West League - Wigan,Warrington,Saints,Widnes,Salford, Leigh, Swinton,Barrow,Workington and Catalans.
Possible East League - Leeds,Bradford, Huddersfield,Hull, K.R., London, Wakefield, Cas,Fev,Halifax.
Then Div 2 could be Leigh,Swinton,Barrow,Widnes,Workington,London,Wakefield,Cas,Hull KR,Halifax.

It is a very good artlcle and his ideas are worth trying. We should also drastically cut the number of imports in the teams.
"The great administrators are pro-active and strategise; they don’t wait for something to happen before taking action." This bit could apply closer to home.

Does that mean there'll only be 18 league games and if they get knocked out of cup in the first round thats only 19 games in a season, how can clubs run with only 9 or 10 home games, not much income coming in there

Well, why not resurrect the (once very popular) Lancashire / Yorkshire Cup competitions and the old Floodlit Trophy (and yes I know it doesn't go dark early in summer but that's by the by).  |
