Matt beat me to it but here's my offering on the subject all the same.
Quote andrew1211="andrew1211"Consecutive league games then v Wakey, must be some sort of a first?!'"
It's a first for Leeds V Wakefield during the SL Era but not the first time Leeds have met the same opponents in consecutive games in League fixtures - the most recent occurrence of this was on the 13th and 20th May 2005 V Leigh and both those games were scheduled as opposed to either being re-arranged.
In terms of Leeds meeting Wakefield in consecutive weeks and consecutive League games prior to the SL Era it happened on four separate occasions over the period 1959/60 to 1995/96:
1963 - 26th Dec and 28th Dec
1976 - 28th Mar and 3rd Apr
1989 - 5th Mar and 12th Mar
1991 - 29th Mar and 1st Apr
Presumably return Easter fixtures playing a role in some of the above.
