The Easter weekends lambs to the Toronto Wolfpack slaughter were the North Wales Crusaders as the league's newest side visited Wrexham.

The Wolfpack gave debuts to new signings Ryan Bailey and Sean Penkywicz, both seasoned professionals adding yet another dimension to a strong Toronto squad.

With Toronto developing a Super League side but playing on Championship One they interest was not whether they would win, but against another side or part-timers it was by how many.

Just three minutes in and the Crusaders lost the ball on their own forty while bringing from their line. Craig Hall picked up the loose ball and went under the sticks without a defensive hand on him. He added the extras to his own try for 6-0.

The Wolfpack hot lucky on six when despite a clumsy pass Gary Wheeler put in a grubber which got a ricochet off a Crusaders defender and he picked up the ball and went over again. Hall kicked the extras.

In the eighth minute Blake Wallace picked up a loose pass from Jack Bussey and went thirty metres stepping past the Crusaders defence to score. Hall kicked the two for 18-0.

It was four tries in the opening ten minutes when Bussey did all the work to allow Sean Pencywicz to pass outside for Wheeler to go in for his second. Hall made it 24-0 and Toronto were scoring at two points a minute.

Penkywicz got his debut try for his new team after Ryan Bailey had attracted the defence and offloaded for his new colleague to go over. Hall added the extras to complete his one hundred points so far this season and take the scoreline to 30-0.

The Crusaders finally got some ball but on twenty-three they coughed it up on their own forty and two plays later Adam Sidlow took three tacklers over the line with him to score. Hall made it six from six.

Rhys Jacks got Toronto's seventh as he stretched between two Crusaders defenders to ground on the line. Hall was again accurate with the boot for 42-0.

Craig Hall got his second on the half hour after a barnstorming run from Quentin Laulu-Togaga'e. Scoring under the sticks he gave himself a simple conversion for 48-0.

The fifty was brought up on thirty-eight minutes when Fuifui Moimoi steamrollered his way over the whitewash from five metres. Hall kicked the two. Liam Kay got the tenth try, by the left hand corner flag, on the stroke if half time. It was a simple walk in on the overlap. Hall converted from the touchline for 60-0 at the interval.

The onset of second half rain reflected the home sides mood.

The Crusaders repelled Toronto for the first five minutes but when Laulu-Togaga'e spotted a gap he went through it to dive over. Hall failed to convert, his first miss of the afternoon. Two minutes later and QLT got his second from twenty metres off a Wallace pass. Closer to the sticks Hall converted for 70-0.

The Crusaders then hit a relative purple patch. They had a try cruelly ruled out for foot in touch and managed to keep Toronto at bay for twenty-two minutes before a break down the right wing from Wheeler who then provided the pass for Hall to go under the sticks for his hat-trick. Adding the extras he now had a personal haul of thirty-six points.

The eighty points came up on seventy seven when Greg Worthington went over on his back with two defenders in attendance. Hall skewed the ball in front of the sticks leaving the final score at 80-0.

This was men against boys as the professional side took on the semi-pros. For the second consecutive game the Wolfpack registered at least a point a minute, and their coaching staff will have been pleased to have kept a clean sheet as well as registering a big score. It was a better second half from the home side as the conditions deteriorated

Next weekend should be more of a challenge when they travel to the AJ Bell Stadium in Salford to take on Super League's second placed side, the Red Devils.
