The draw for the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup sixth round draw took place live on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme this morning.
Round six is probably the most anticipated of the season, with last years top eight Super League clubs joining the remaining eight teams who have battled their way through the earlier rounds.
Radio 4’s most popular programme, Today, was chosen to host the draw as it reaches more than three million daily listeners.
Today Programme host Jon Humphrys, who has been a presenter of radio 4s flagship programme since 1987, conducted the draw along with four-time Challenge Cup winner Martin Offiah.
Between 1992 and 1995 Offiah was a regular at Wembley Stadium for the Cup final with Wigan. It was the 1994 final against Leeds where Offiah scored a memorable length-of-the-field try helping Wigan win 26-16 that day along with lifting the Lance Todd Trophy for his outstanding performance.
Eight winners from this weekend’s fifth round ties joined the top eight First Utility Super League teams from 2015 in the draw to produce eight ties that will be played over the weekend of May 6-8.
The draw in full is;
Castleford Tigers v. Salford Red Devils
Oldham Roughyeds v. Warrington Wolves
Dewsbury Rams v. Wigan Warriors
Batley Bulldogs v. Catalans Dragons
Halifax v. Widnes Vikings
St Helens v. Hull FC
Huddersfield Giants v. Leeds Rhinos
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats v. Toulouse Olympique XIII
The BBC will choose two ties for televising.
