All of the top four looked to have comfortable fixtures but were given a run for their money by their round twelve opponents.

Leigh Centurions entertained Halifax, Bradford Bulls travelled to Whitehaven, Sheffield Eagles were up against basement side Doncaster and Featherstone Rovers were away in London to take on the Broncos.

Elsewhere, Batley Bulldogs made the long trip to Workington and Hunslet Hawks had a much shorter journey to Dewsbury to take on the Rams.

Friday saw the tenants take on the landlords as third placed Sheffield Eagles occupied the away dressing room at the Keepmoat Stadium. Just 863 turned up to see Logan give Donny the early lead which they almost managed to carry to the interval, Aston going over in the thirty-ninth minute to level the scores at 6-6. Doncaster were back in the lead on forty-nine with another converted Logan four-pointer and again they held the advantage until the hour mark. Stringers try on sixty signalled three Eagles scores in eleven minutes to shatter Doncaster's hopes of a first win of 2015 as Briggs and Davies both crossed the line. Knowles added a fifth Sheffield try on the final hooter for a 30-12 victory.

Leigh were looking to make it twenty-four consecutive wins when the welcomed Halifax to Leigh Sports Village. It certainly was a warm reception and what unfolded was a close but bad tempered game which finished with ten players on both sides after four sendings off and two late sin-binnings. Murrell had given 'Fax the lead but Kay levelled the scores a few minutes later. Heaton put the visitors into a 10-6 half time lead and extended the margin to 14-6 five minutes into the second half. A great fightback, at time literally, saw tries from Worthington and Goulden for 18-14 before two separate incidents saw the dismissal of; first Armstrong, and then after a mass-brawl, Acron, Tyrer and Bracek all saw red and Haggerty and Cahalne were sin-binned. Beswick added another four-pointer on the final hooter to keep the Centurions unbeaten run going but they must be fearful of losing players to suspension ahead of next weeks Challenge Cup game.

Despite opening up a 16-0 lead at Whitehaven through Purtell (2) and Gaskell, the Bulls were only leading by six at the interval after McAvoy and Holliday scored for the home side. Newton went over for 'Haven on forty-nine to level the scores at 16-16 and give the Bulls a bit of a fright. Tries from Addy and Williams (2) eased the Bulls to a 32-16 win which somewhat belied the effort and enterprise of the home side.

Down in London, Featherstone were involved in a battle-royal with the Broncos which would see them escape with the two points to maintain their fourth spot. Thackeray and Harrison had given the Broncos a 12-0 lead before Blackmore, Hitchcox and Bostock edged Rovers into a 16-12 half time lead. Cording, Teasdale and Chappell made it six unanswered tries for the visitors for 34-12 before Williams, Hellewell and Sammut got London right back into it at 30-34. A Bussey try for Featherstone on seventy-five sealed the points and a late penalty for London simply reduced the margin to 40-32.

Batley Bulldogs led their game at Workington from the eighth minute after a Leatherbarrow penalty but the first try didn't come until the thirty-third minute when Rettie crossed to give the visitors an 8-0 half time lead. Workington came back early in the second half and tries from Phillips and Forber gave them 10-8 lead which they held for twelve minutes until a Leatherbarrow penalty levelled the scores with fourteen minutes left on the clock. Within the last ten minutes both Leak and Craven scored for the Bulldogs and a last minute Leatherbarrow drop goal sealed a 23-10 on the road win lifting Batley above Hunslet into eighth.

The most one-sided game of the day was at Dewsbury where the Rams demolished the Hawks by 40-4, despite Hunslet having taken the lead through a Martin try after two minutes. Seven tries from; Adamson, Morton (3), Thackeray, Adamson and Seymour and six goals from Seymour gave the home side a big win which lefts them to fifth spot in the table, snapping at the heals of Featherstone Rovers.

Next weekend sees a limited fixture list due to Challenge Cup involvement with three out of the top four not in action. There will be plenty of interest in the game on Tuesday 19th when the third placed Eagles take on fifth placed Dewsbury.
